Welcome to the Amoud Medical School Web site, which aims to provide all visitors with the specific information they are seeking plus the latest news about the medical school and its affiliated teaching hospitals. Once you have spent some time navigating the site, we hope that you sense what an exciting, vibrant academic medical center is located here in Borama Awdal Region, Somaliland carrying out its missions of education, research, and patient care.

It's all here, from nuts-and-bolts information about the medical school admissions process, including tuition and fees, to descriptions of our nationally recognized clinical and research programs, to the abundant recreational and cultural opportunities available in Amoud and its handsome, rapidly-growing capital, Borama City the Home of Amoud University.

As you browse this web site you'll feel the pride we take in our leadership role in the community and our mission to improve health and quality of life through excellence in education, research and patient care.

Our curriculum is solid and forward-looking, replicating the environment physicians will face in practice, and our physical plant is growing rapidly, with a substantial number of buildings projects either under way or on the drawing board.  In my view, however, it is our people who are our greatest asset: our dedicated faculty members, many of whom are internationally known, our medical students, who come from widely varying backgrounds and have impeccable academic credentials, and our competent and hard-working support staff.

I invite you to acquaint yourself with all the Amoud University Faculty of Medicine has to offer, and encourage you to contact us at the offices listed for additional information or with any questions you may have. If you find something missing on our site, comments or enjoy a particular feature, please let us know by sending an e-mail to : walhad@amoudmed.org and visiting our guest book.

Cordially,

Clan-based militiamen turned out to be the key players that run the country?s day-to-day affairs. As a result, all social and governmental institutions fell at the mercy of mayhem and lawlessness ravaging the country. Education became the first victim of this destruction as the physical buildings of schools were either destroyed or left in a state of no legitimate use. Formal schools and .....Next page
